If your project is a custom minifigure, we’ll create either a 2D mock-up or a 3D render, depending on the complexity of the design. This stage is highly collaborative. We’ll refine the concept with your feedback until you’re thrilled with the results. Once you give your final approval, your design is ready to move into production!
Step 3: Custom Building Kit Design
If you’re creating a custom building kit, the process can be a bit more intricate. For kits with higher levels of complexity, we may request a design deposit. This allows us to bring in additional specialized designers to ensure your project is as polished and engaging as possible.
The best part? That design deposit is credited back to your order once you approve the final production design. This ensures we have the time and flexibility to explore multiple design rounds, making sure your kit is both fun to build and perfectly aligned with your brand.
Building Kits also typically come with building instructions! We will create these step-by-step instructions, but allow you to add your branding and messaging, and also host the building instructions however you want. Our clients have had great success with QR codes that drive directly to the instructions, which is more cost-effective and eco-friendly!

Once your figure or kit design is approved, it’s production time. We will provide you with a packaging template that you and your team can design exactly as you see fit! Not much of a designer? That’s ok – our internal design team can assist! From custom pad-printed details to carefully packaged kits, every element is handled with precision and care. Our goal is to deliver a final product that not only matches your vision but leaves a lasting impression on your audience.
Step 5: Preparing for Print & Production
With the design locked in, our team prepares your artwork for prepress. Our expert press operators then create precision plates for our pad printing machines, ensuring that all lines and details will print at the highest quality. Meanwhile, we source all the parts and elements needed for your build, ensuring every component is ready for seamless production. This step is where the magic of design begins to transform into a tangible product.
